    RULES OF BEHAVIOR AGREEMENT

    Parents Connected Tours is very excited to provide an opportunity for you to explore college life and career paths via our College Tour trip. In an attempt to make this tour meaningful, educational and enjoyable for all, we have outlined below the specific rules of behavior for each student.

    1. Students are subject to the authority of the chaperones at all times.

    2. Students are expected to show consideration and respect for their fellow students, chaperones, tour leaders, tour guides, campus staff, bus drivers, and hotel & restaurant personnel. Disrespectful and rude behavior, actions or gestures will not be tolerated. A number of behaviors are regarded as incompatible with Parents Connected goals, values, and program standards and therefore are considered unacceptable and prohibited while participants are engaged in tour activities:
    • Unwelcome physical contact, such as inappropriate touching, patting, pinching, punching, and physical assault
    • Unwelcome physical, verbal, visual, or behavioral mannerisms or conduct that denigrates, shows hostility, or aversion toward any individual
    • Demeaning or exploitive behavior of either a sexual or nonsexual nature, including threats of such behavior
    • Display of demeaning, suggestive, or pornographic material
    • Denigration, public or private, of any student, chaperone, or bus driver
    • Denigration, public or private, of school/campus officials
    • Intentional violation of any local, state, or federal law
    • Drinking of alcoholic beverages
    • Possession of illegal substances
    • Excessive disturbances in hotels

    Any unacceptable behavior, as specified but not limited to the above, will result in a warning and/or disciplinary action including dismissal from participation in the college tour.

    3. Students are expected to take care of and keep up with their personal belongings. Parents Connected will not be responsible for any losses.

    4. Student’s attire should reflect the fact that they are with a professional organization. Professional dress is required during each campus visit as follows:
    • White Shirts (Dress Shirt, Blouse or Polo shirt)
    • Black Bottoms (Slacks, Skirts, Neat jeans w/o rips/tears/holes, or knee length shorts)
    • Comfortable Walking Shoes (No flip-flops or Slides)
    Skirts and shorts MUST come to the knee. Spaghetti straps, bare midriffs, baggy/saggy pants, exposed underwear and excessively tight clothing are considered unacceptable. No “Sagging”, No Leggings. The chaperones will have the final say if there is a borderline clothing issue.

    5. No GUM or CANDY will be permitted during the school presentations or walking tours.

    6. Students are warned that carrying or using drugs is an offense punishable by law. Required medication should be prescribed by a doctor, properly labeled and kept in the Chaperones possession. Prior to departure, Chaperones should receive written notification and dosage instructions regarding all medication.

    7. No incense/candle burning is permitted.

    8. Students are not allowed to possess or use alcoholic beverages or tobacco at any time.

    9. Students must be on time for all scheduled activities. Tardiness results in inconveniencing others and throwing the tour off schedule.

    10. There must be MORE THAN TWO (2) STUDENTS in a hotel room during visitation at all times.

    11. Curfew is at 10:00 PM and will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. There will be no visiting other rooms, opening doors, getting ice, ordering pizza or making long distance/lobby phone calls after the curfew. Any deviations from the curfew will be under the direct supervision of a chaperone.

    12. Students must respect hotel property. Should damage of property occur, restitution would be at the expense of the STUDENT and PARENT. Students must also respect the bus and the bus equipment, and do their part to help keep it clean.

    13. Students must be considerate and respectful of the rights of other guests at the hotel. Unnecessary and loud noises, which include but are not limited to, slamming doors, running and/or shouting in the hallways, blaring music and TV, banging/knocking on doors are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

    14. Students are responsible for carrying their own luggage. They are also responsible for having the materials/items required for the day prior to getting on or off the bus. The bus driver will not be expected to open the bus for you to get things you have forgotten, especially if it is underneath the bus.

    15. Students must be respectful and considerate during campus information sessions and tours. No chatting and horseplay while College Representatives are speaking. Students are to be attentive, take notes and ask appropriate questions during all presentations, even if you don’t plan on attending that particular college or university.

    16. Students are responsible for keeping their money in a safe place at all times. Students should adhere to a self-imposed daily budget as set forth by their parent/guardian to ensure that they have money for food each day of the tour.

    17. No local or long-distance phone calls may be charged to your room. We strongly suggest that the students without a personal cell phone have some type of calling card. If calls are to be made in the lobby prior to curfew please informs your chaperone of your whereabouts.

    18. Student shall not charge ANYTHING to their room. Unauthorized charges are strictly forbidden and if incurred, said costs will be passed directly to the respective parents.

    19. At hotel check outs students should give their room keys to their chaperone. Any problems with your room or immediate needs you may have (iron, extra towels, etc.) should be reported to your chaperone only. Students should not call or go down to the front desk for any reason whatsoever. Your Chaperone will handle such needs for you.

    20. Visitors (i.e. Out-of-State relatives) are not allowed without written consent submitted to Parents Connected prior to departure. Parents Connected maintains full discretion of said visitation based upon real-time schedule circumstances during the tour. Students may not leave premises with said visitor, said visitor may not enter the student’s hotel room and said visitor may not remain on the premises after curfew.

    * HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THE RULES OF BEHAVIOR FOR THE PARENTS CONNECTED COLLEGE TOUR TRIP. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE-MENTIONED RULES ARE BROKEN, I WILL BE RETURNED HOME IMMEDIATELY AT MY PARENT’S EXPENSE.
